With an EVOLVE Women’s Championship opportunity within reach, Zena Sterling and Layla Diggs squared off for a spot in the upcoming No. 1 Contender’s Fatal 4-Way.

From the opening bell, both women met in the center of the ring with an intense staredown. Sterling strikes first with a takedown and immediately goes for the cover, but is unable to capitalize.

Willow Nightingale was supposed to appear and speak to the audience ahead of AEW All In this Sunday. Willow’s music hit, but she was nowhere to be found.

AEW quickly showed what was happening backstage, where Willow and Mercedes Moné were already involved in a heated confrontation.

It appears Mercedes could not wait until Sunday to get her hands on Willow and regain the championship she claims belongs to her. The two women traded shots backstage as officials attempted to separate them.

Mercedes continued to target Willow, making it clear that this rivalry has become more personal heading into All In. However, Willow refused to back down and fought right back, showing Mercedes that she is not willing to be intimidated before their championship matchup.

This confrontation added another layer of intensity to their rivalry. Mercedes believes the championship belongs with her, while Willow enters All In looking to prove that she deserves to remain champion.

With neither woman willing to wait until Sunday, the backstage brawl helped raise the stakes heading into AEW All In.
